Reset your password
Locked out isn’t the end of the story. If you know the email address of your account, you can be back in your dashboard in a couple of minutes.
1. Ask for a link
Section titled “1. Ask for a link”On the sign-in page, choose Forgot your password?, enter the email address of your FortressFlag account, and send. You’ll see the same confirmation whatever you typed — we never say whether an address has an account — and if one exists, an email with a link is on its way, written in the language your dashboard is set to.
2. Choose a new password
Section titled “2. Choose a new password”Open the link. It works once and expires after 60 minutes — after that, just ask for a new one. Pick a new password (at least 12 characters), repeat it, and save. Every device that was signed in to your account is signed out; a password nobody else knows is the point.
3. Sign in again
Section titled “3. Sign in again”Back on the sign-in page, use the new password. If your organization requires two-factor authentication, you’ll still be asked for your code — resetting a password proves you own the mailbox, not the phone.
If your organization uses single sign-on
Section titled “If your organization uses single sign-on”There’s no FortressFlag password to reset: your identity provider signs you in. Ask for a link anyway and you’ll get an email that says exactly that, so the answer arrives where you’re looking for it.
The fine print, stated plainly
Section titled “The fine print, stated plainly”- The reset is recorded in the audit log of every organization you belong to.
- A reset never bypasses two-factor authentication — that’s a feature.
Where to next
Section titled “Where to next”- Require two-factor authentication — the code a reset can’t replace
- Invite your team — invitations arrive by email too
